GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators can ensure dedicated GPU resources for their courses by making GPU reservations. This method grants these courses first priority access to requested GPU compute hardware, guaranteeing that the necessary infrastructure is in place for training sessions and labs to run effectively.

To establish a GPU reservation for a course, please follow the procedure outlined below:

Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page. Locate the blue button labeled "Reserve GPU", situated beneath the Video conference button, and select it.

A prompt will appear requesting details necessary to process your GPU request.

The initial step involves selecting a location, which is set to "Anywhere" by default.

If you are aware of the city closest to your participants, you can specify this manually by choosing "Within distance from city".

For broader location coverage, you may opt for "Others...".

Once you are satisfied with the selected location, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where you can define your machine specifications.

In this section, specify all resources required per machine to obtain an accurate estimate of the associated costs.

Please ensure accuracy in these details, as this will refine the cost estimation and assist course managers in sourcing resources should capacity be limited in a specific region.

If you are content with the entered details, click Continue to advance to the GPU requirements section.

It is advisable to consult with the trainer at this stage to determine the precise needs for the course. Trainers typically have a clear understanding of the GPU Vendor and Model required for their sessions. If you or the trainer are uncertain, please leave this field as "ANY".

We currently support two vendors: AMD & Nvidia.

Regarding models, our current catalogue is listed. If you are unsure of the specific requirements, please select "ANY".

When you are satisfied with the reservation details, click "Place reservation". This action will allocate the necessary funds, activate the reservation, and display its status on the course page, as illustrated below:
